Imports of Perfumes and Cosmetics Significantly Increased
In February, compared to this January, the import of chemical products into Russia increased by 13.2 per cent, amounting to $2.82 billion, according to the data published on the Federal Customs Service website. Among chemical products, imports of perfumes and cosmetics increased by eight per cent.
while the import volumes of pharmaceutical products decreased by 34.7 per cent, organic and inorganic chemicals—by almost 7 per cent, polymers and rubber—by 3.8 per cent, soaps and synthetic detergents—by 3 per cent. In textiles and shoes, purchases of knitted and textile clothes increased (by 3.8 and 3.2 per cent, respectively), but the import of chemical fibres decreased by 27.6, of chemical yarn by 17.2, and of cotton by 15.8 per cent.
In general, imports of goods from non-CIS countries to the Russian Federation in January–February increased by 1.9 per cent compared to the same period last year, amounting to almost $29.9 billion. In February, imports grew by 8.9 per cent compared to January and amounted to slightly more than $15.5 billion in value terms. As compared to last February, imports from non-CIS countries remained virtually unchanged. Please be reminded that the mandatory marking of footwear was postponed to July.
