AvtoVAZ increasing exports to CIS and beyond
Whilst Kazakhstan remains the Russian carmakers largest international market, the company plans to increase the number of cars it exports to Egypt, Tunisia, Nicaragua, Peru, and other countries.
This year, the management of Russia’s car manufacturing giant set the strategic goal of increasing export deliveries to 100,000 cars, Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper reports citing the company’s press service. The entire Lada model range will be available for export, following all technical localization and subsequent certification as necessary for target markets.
Prices of the AvtoVAZ export models will be determined based on the competitive environment in specific export markets. The Russian company believes that the recent weakening of the Ruble against the Euro and Dollar significantly enhances the international potential of the LADA brand.
Last year AvtoVAZ exported 52,000 cars, with Kazakhstan accounting for about 80% exports. Since last year, the export model of one of the most recognizable Russian Lada 4×4 model has been equipped with a modern diesel engine supplied by FIAT Group.
