“Green Corridor” is Being Introduced for Importers
Russia abolishes all restrictions on the supply of essential goods, including customs restrictions. This was announced by Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin at the regular Government session. According to him, the “Green Corridor” is being introduced for importers and for large retail chains.
The import of certain goods, including medicines and medical devices, will be subject to zero rate of customs duty for a period of one month starting from Marh 20, 2020. Mr. Mishustin also mentioned the facilitation of distance selling of over-the-counter medicines and medical devices. It is noted that at the same time control over the circulation of these goods will be tightened so that disreputable vendors will not supply counterfeit products.
It also should be noted that previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reached an agreement with retailers on stable prices of products. The Ministry also reports that the country has enough domestic products. Furthermore, it should be recalled that in Russia, since the begininng of the year online sales of various food products have sharply increased.
