Ivanovo Textiles are in Demand in the International Market
The Press Centre of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation announces that Melanzh-Tekstil Trading House has launched a workshop in Ivanovo for the production of polyester cotton textiles and has increased the production capacity of fabrics for work and protective clothing. They also plan to supply their products to foreign markets.
At present, the company exports about five per cent of its finished products to neighbouring countries such as Belarus, Armenia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. According to Viktor Evtukhov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ivanovo company has long been expanding its presence not only outside the regional market, but also in the Russian market, having established itself as a manufacturer of high-quality products. Launching new production facilities will therefore allow the enterprise to reach a new level.
Products made by the Ivanovo company are used to manufacture overalls for workers in the energy and oil and gas industries, as well as for military personnel and security guards. The company produces fabric made from one hundred per cent cotton, fabric with mixed content, as well as fabric with a variety of proofings needed in the manufacture of special work clothes.
Initiatives in the field of state support for domestic manufacturers of light industry products help enterprises to create new products and product lines that can compete with overseas counterparts and become unique in both local and international markets. It was recently reported that in value terms, the volume of exports of light industry goods this year should reach one and a half billion US dollars. In addition, the demand for Russian felt boots (valenki) in foreign countries is growing.
